Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as a reporter at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. In the following years, she worked as a morning-news anchor as well as crime reporter for WCBD TV. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police acted in DUI cases in a manner that was lenient, caused an investigation by State Law Enforcement Division.
